The dashed year didn't have this election here: it opens the closest office, written below.
G é Eleição Geral: presidente, governador, senador e deputados. L é Eleição Local (municipal): prefeito e vereador. De 1933 a 1990 o TSE não publica cargo municipal, então esses anos são todos G.
The same office appears twice in the year a place voted on a different date from the rest of the country (because of a postponement, for example).
In 1954, 11 states elected a governor, according to data from Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
The TSE does not publish the party of those elected in this election, so there is no composition to show. 8 of the 11 seats have no party.
Each governor is elected in their own state. This list brings together those elected in all states that voted for governor in this election.
Sum of the votes of the candidates each party ran, nationwide. Where the party backed a candidate from another party, those votes count for the other party; so the sum measures the strength of the party's own candidacies, not of the whole party.
| Party | Candidates | Votes | % |
|---|---|---|---|
| PSP | 4 | 667,445 | 11.96% |
| PTB | 4 | 483,393 | 8.66% |
