The dashed year didn't have this election here: it opens the closest office, written below.
G é Eleição Geral: presidente, governador, senador e deputados. L é Eleição Local (municipal): prefeito e vereador. De 1933 a 1990 o TSE não publica cargo municipal, então esses anos são todos G.
The same office appears twice in the year a place voted on a different date from the rest of the country (because of a postponement, for example).
In 1990, 1,025 state deputies were elected to the 26 state legislative assemblies and 24 district deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District, according to data from Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE). The largest caucuses were those of PMDB (209), PFL (171) and PDT (89). The most votes in the country for state deputy went to Sergio Pedro Zambiasi (PTB-RS), with 320,381 votes.
1,025 seats in the State Legislative Assemblies, split among 21 parties.
Elected seats, from the TSE results. This is the composition that came out of the ballot boxes, not the one the chamber had over the legislative term: anyone who switched parties after the election does not change this number. The count adds up those elected, without recalculating the quotient, so it matches the legal size of the chamber.
Each party by its total votes (candidate votes + party-list votes), including those that won no seat.
The most voted in each state, brought together only for reference. The seat is first allotted to the party (electoral quotient), and larger states have more voters, so the numbers cannot be compared directly.
The 10 with the most votes in the country. The percentage is of the valid votes in each one's state.
