In 2020, there were municipal elections for mayor and city councillor, according to data from Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE). For mayor, 5,566 municipalities voted; counting both rounds, MDB elected the most mayors (793), followed by PP (690) and PSD (657). For city councillor, 58,105 were elected; MDB elected the most city councillors (7,349), followed by PP (6,383) and PSD (5,698).

The same office appears twice because one place voted on a different date from the rest of the country: because of a postponement, for example.
