Even before the final count

The Comparison Radar does not wait for the count to end. While Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has not closed the count of a race, the 2026 candidacy is marked as partial, with the percentage of voting machines counted and the time of the last update. When the TSE publishes the final result, the mark disappears on its own and the candidacy stays on the screen.

On the morning of this Monday, October 5, the races for governor and senator already had the TSE's final count in the 26 states and the Federal District. The races for president and for deputy in some states, such as São Paulo, were still partial.

The 2026 numbers marked as partial can change until the TSE's final count. And only the TSE declares who is elected.

How to use it, step by step

Example: the São Paulo governorship, in 2022 and in 2026

Tarcísio de Freitas and Fernando Haddad ran for governor of São Paulo in the 2022 runoff and ran again in 2026. With the four candidacies side by side, in % of valid votes, you can see in each of the state's 645 cities how much each one got in the two elections. For governor of São Paulo, the TSE's count is already final.

Example with a partial result: federal deputy in São Paulo

For federal deputy in São Paulo, the count did not yet have the final tally when this article was written. In the example, Erika Hilton and Kim Kataguiri in 2022 and in 2026: the 2026 columns carry the partial label and, above the table, the notice says how many voting machines have been counted and at what time.

Federal deputy in São Paulo, 2022 and 2026: the 2026 columns with the partial label (100% of São Paulo's voting machines counted at 10:47 p.m. on 10/4, still without the TSE's final count).

What is free and what is paid

In the table by municipality, when you tap a city, its neighborhoods, schools and voting machines appear. For the paid offices, the names appear and the votes stay locked.

And the 2026 vote by neighborhood and by school?

It is already in the Comparison Radar. The TSE published the vote of each voting machine on the afternoon of October 5, and 2026 now also opens by neighborhood, by school and by voting machine, with the same rule as the other years: free for president and paid for the other offices.

Within a city

The second mode of the Comparison Radar, "In a city", compares candidacies within a municipality, by neighborhood, electoral zone, school and voting machine, and also accepts those for mayor and city councillor of that city. It covers general elections from 2010 onward and municipal elections from 2012 onward.

You can also get there from a candidate's profile on Radar do Voto: the Compare button opens the tool already in the state where the person ran, with their candidacies ready to add. More details on each feature are in the article on the launch of the Comparison Radar, from September.
